EcoEnergy participates in Inovative Thinking project financed through the Inttelligent Energy - Europe Program. EcoEnergy partners are municipalities, energy efficiency agencies and networks of municipalities from Sweden, Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Spain and Latvia.

The project idea is to unite all the participants in building a sustainable energy municipality. The expectations are that the local politicians, the municipal administrations, regional energy enterprises, building owners, transport companies, consultants, etc. will jointly engaged in the long-term energy development of the municipalities.

In the process of project implementation the current situation in the municipalities related to the energy efficiency in buildings, industry and trasnport, RES use,engagement of the participants in the sustainable development of the municipality, the main barriers to the future development, undertaken or planned activities, are described and valuated. On the base of  the results and outcomes of the described situation common methodology for elaboration of municipal energy strategy and municipal action plan are devloped and applied as coordinated documents among the participants.

The project has started in the end of 2006 and ends in May 2009.
